I use somatic “tactics” to engage clients in their emotional self’s, and a variety of strategies from exercise to creative arts to integrate insight. Through these modalities, I hope to offer loving and effective movement towards chosen wellness, especially for LBGTQAI+ communities.”
“I view counseling as a process in which you the client, and I, the LPC work to gain trust and further empathy initially. Following, as a team, we work to gain insight and define present problem situations. Afterwards, we work to find tangible solutions for the present situations.”

Susan Spruill, LPC-S
(She/Her)
Susan Spruill earned a master’s degree in professional counseling from Amberton University in 2007. She has 30 years of cumulative experience working with children and families in educational and mental health settings. Susan enjoys working with adults as well as children, adolescents, families, and couples. Her clinical experience includes treating individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma. She also works with couples that are looking to repair their marriage and parent/child relationships.
For the first 20 years of her career, education was her passion. She encountered many students that had difficulty accessing the curriculum due to personal distress, family issues, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. She felt the calling to help children and families in a more intimate setting. Susan also worked as a clinical therapist for Youth and Family Services where she partnered with parents, teachers, school administrators, clinicians, and psychiatrists to develop plans to best fit the needs of individuals. Thus, reinforcing her belief in the importance of building well founded support systems for individuals and families.
Another piece of her counseling experience included several years as a clinical counselor working with refugees from all over the world. This granted her experiences that few people encounter in their lifetimes. Those experiences instilled in her the idea that there are not necessarily right or wrong ways of thinking, believing, or simply being. Curiosity and open mindedness allow for a greater understanding of those we love and leads to open conversations which produce safe environments to work through differences and strengthen relationships.
Whether you are a parent looking for help for your child or adolescent, a couple looking to strengthen your marriage, or simply an individual looking to enhance your life, Susan would consider it an honor to work together to help you find the future you deserve. Susan loves spending time on the beach and quiet time alone for self-reflection. She also enjoys cooking, entertaining, and spending time with her family and friends.
